McKayla Haack is a Montana filmmaker, producer, and owner of Mountain Heart Media. Raised in Havre with family ties in Great Falls, Red Lodge, Bozeman and Missoula, McKayla has deep roots across the state and a lifelong love for telling Montana stories. Before launching her business, she worked in broadcast journalism in Missoula and later built a full-time career as a freelance videographer in Butte.
McKayla specializes in visual storytelling that blends journalism, authenticity, and cinematic technique. Her projects range from nonprofit impact pieces to corporate interviews, educational content, and short-form documentaries.
My commitment is to meet you where you are. Whether you arrive with a fully formed vision or just a spark of an idea, I’ll work alongside you to bring it to life. Some clients want help shaping the story from the ground up; others prefer to lead the creative direction and use me to execute it with care and intention. Either way, my goal is the same: to create something that feels true to you and does what it’s meant to do.
McKayla is a miracle worker. When I tell you I gave her NOTHING to work with, I mean it. I get camera shy, I clam up, etc. Somehow, she still managed to pull together exactly the video I was hoping for. I look professional in my video because she is a true professional. Could not be happier with the final product.
